Creamy Green Chile Sauce

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 pinch oregano
- 2 (4 1/2 ounce) cans chopped green chilies (undrained)
Recipe
- 1 in saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- 2 saute onion and garlic until transparent.
- 3 stir in flour until well-mixed and golden brown.
- 4 slowly stir in broth and remove lumps.
- 5 add chiles, cumin, and oregano and stir well.
- 6 reduce heat to simmer; cook, uncovered, about 15 minutes.
- 7 serve over burritos or your favorite tex-mex food.
