Dolmathes

Total Time: 2 hrs Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 scallions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 3/4 cup lemon juice
  • leafy greens

Recipe

  • 1 combine all ingredients (first 12). with a 16 oz jar of grape leaves, remove stems, place shiny side down and wrap 1 tbsp of mixture in leaf. layer in a pot along w/ leafy greens & simmer in stock & lemon juice 1 hour. allow to cool before transfering.
