Chive Dumplings

Total Time: 37 mins Preparation Time: 7 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons chives, snipped

Recipe

  • 1 cut the shortening into the flour, baking powder and salt until mixture looks like fine crumbs. stir in milk and chives.
  • 2 drop onto hot chicken. cook uncovered 10 minutes, then covered 20 minutes.
  • 3 (these cooking times are only for if you're fixing the dumplings for the chicken fricassee).
